House Speaker confers Lithuanian Foreign Minister

Addis Ababa, 21 May 2014 (WIC) - Ethiopia is keen to cooperate with Lithuania in building a democratic system, according to Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR), Abadula Gemeda.
The Speaker expressed this while talking to a Lithuanian delegation led by its foreign Minister, Linas Linkevicius.
He briefed the delegation that Ethiopia, following a federal system, has ensured the equality of different ethnic groups. As for him, this is a success the country wants to share with the rest of the world.
The Lithuanian Foreign Minister, Linas Linkevicius, acknowledged his nation could learn some experiences from Ethiopia pertaining building a democratic system.
Lithuania could impart its success on information technology. It is also ready to work with Ethiopia on tourism.
As Lithuania is currently a member of the UN Security Council, it will support Ethiopia’s effort to peace and security in Africa, particularly in the horn of Africa. (ERTA)
