Enterprise earns over 189 mln birr form coffee export

Addis Ababa, 21 May 2014 (WIC) – The Ethiopian Grain Trade Enterprise (EGTE) said it has earned 189.2 million birr form coffee export.

Enterprise General Manager, Berhane Hailu, told WIC the stated sum of revenue was generated from the over 33,000 quintals of coffee exported to various countries in the first nine months of this Ethiopian budget year.

According to him, the enterprise’s target was to export more than 92,000 quintals of coffee and earn 635 million birr.

He said past nine months’ coffee export surpassed by 6 per cent compare to same period two years ago, while it declined by 45 per cent that of the same period last year.

The enterprise earned about 400 million birr from oilseeds, cereals and pulses, including coffee beans exported during the nine months, it was learnt.
