Addis Ababa, 16 May 2014 (WIC) – The Amhara Credit and Saving Institution (ACSI) has opened its second branch office in Addis Ababa.

Office Manager, Abyou Tewabe, told WIC that the new branch office was opened at an area commonly known as Addisu Gebeya.

The office would enable residents of the area to get money transfer and loan service easily and within their reach, he said.

The institution has opened its first branch office in Addis Ababa around Piassa area in 2009, he said.

Amhara Credit & Savings Institution (ACSI) was initially established in October 1995 as a department with the former Ethiopian Relief Organization (ERO), the current Organization for Rehabilitation and Development in Amhara /ORDA/.

It was licensed by the National Bank of Ethiopia as a micro finance intermediary share company in April 1997.
