Ethiopian-Somali community in Finland renews support to GERD

Addis Ababa, 9 May 2014 (WIC) - Members of the Ethiopian-Somali community in Finland reaffirmed their support to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and promised to continue their support to see the completion of the Dam in a meeting organized by the Ethiopian-Somali Community in Finland on 03 May 2014 at Helsinki.
Woinshet Tadesse, Ambassador Extra Ordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Sweden and other Nordic Countries addressed the participants on various issues.

She pointed out the country’s current development; progresses that have been made on the implementation of the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP); Business and Investment opportunities in the country; the current construction status of the Renaissance Dam; and the role of the Ethiopian Diaspora on the implementation of this mega project.

Ambassador Woinshet mentioned about the consular services of the Ethiopian Embassy in Stockholm and the improvement that have been made to enhance services delivery.

Woinshet explains the new guideline on the issuance of Ethiopian origin ID card. During the meeting the participants raised a number of questions and had a fruitful discussion.

On the occasion, members of the community appreciated and welcomed the useful information they received from the discussion and progress made by the Ethiopian government on rapid and sustainable economic growth, expansion of infrastructure, social sector and good governance.
Participants of the meeting bought Grand Ethiopian renaissance Dam Bond and vowed to continue the mobilization of more resources up to the compilation of the Dam.
