Al-Basher voices solidarity with Ethiopian intellectuals on the Nile

Addis Ababa, 29 April 2014 (WIC) – Field Marshal Omar Hassan Al-Bashir, President of the republic of Sudan voices his solidarity for Ethiopian intellectuals in utilizing the Nile water for development.

In his keynote speech at a symposium organized by the Blue Nile Water Institute, aiming on Ethiopian intellectuals’ role on the imperatives of utilizing the Nile water for development, Al-Basher spoke out that he didn’t hesitate to attend the gathering envisioned by the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi whom Al-Bashir named the father of the new Ethiopia.
“I wish all success for the workshop to achieve the goals which you are aiming at” the president added.

Al-Bashir’s presence as a keynote speaker at the symposium alone can be considered as a massive incentive for Ethiopia’s move to finalize the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance dam. (Awramba Times)
