Tigray revenues authority collects over 1.5 bln br

Addis Ababa, 15 April 2014 (WIC) – Revenues Development Authority of Tigray regional state collected more than 1.55 billion birr in the past eight months of the current budget year.

The sum is collected from tax and non-tax services as well as capital gains, according to Leul Nigus, senior expert at the regional authority, told WIC.

The performance has shown an increase of nearly 380 million birr when compared to what the authority collected the same period last budget year, Leul said.

The regional state aims to collect 2.4 billion birr at the end of the budget year and the eight months performance met 92 percent of the auhtority’s projection for the period, according to Leul.
