Addis Ababa 8 April 2014 (WIC) - Africa’s uninterrupted rapid economic growth has been attracting foreign investors to the continent, according to Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael, Deputy Prime Minister for Finance and Economic Cluster and Minister of Communication and Information Technology.

An African Investment Forum organized to consolidate trade and investment bondage of Africa and international investors kicked off on Tuesday here in Addis Ababa.

Speaking on the forum, Dr. Debretsion said the forum would play a big role in strengthening the relationship of Africa with the international business community.

According to ENA, he said the uninterrupted growth of Africa affirms that the continent is the future destination of investment and urged investors to focus on agriculture so that they can earn significant profit.

AU Economic Commissioner Antone Merupeng on his part said countries should support diasporas in addition to foreign investors by establishing relations with those communities.

The growth of Africa is not coincidental and the governments should therefore devise and implement policies that help sustain growth, trade, creativity, market ties and investment, he added.
