Some 1.2 bln birr earned from privatized enterprises

Addis Ababa, 19 February 2014 (WIC) – The Ethiopian Privatization and Public Enterprises Supervising Agency (PPESA) said 1.2 billion birr was obtained from the public enterprises privatized in the first half of this budget year
While presenting 6-month performance report of the agency here today, Director General of PPESA, Beyene Gebremeskel, said the agency attained 95 of its projected target.
He added that though the plan was to earn to 27.7 million US dollars from 10 state-owned enterprises engaged in export trade, it was possible to secure 21.6 million US dollars, he said.  
According to Beyene, the agency was also posted 413 million birr profit before tax during the first six months of this budget year.
