Dr. Tedros holds talks with the UK Home Office’s Minister of Security

Addis Ababa, 8 February 2014 (WIC) - Dr. Tedros Adhanom held talks with the UK Home Office’s Minister of Security, James Brokenshire on Thursday (February 6).
Dr. Tedros noted that Ethiopia and the UK enjoyed robust bilateral relations in various areas of cooperation.
He said Ethiopia valued and cherished its relations with the UK “as a model of bilateral relations.” 
He underscored Ethiopia’s readiness to further deepen its relations with UK in the area of security.
He welcomed the UK’s role in encouraging peace and security in Somalia and its participation as part of the troika in the mediation of the conflict in South Sudan.
Brokenshire underlined UK’s interest to expanding cooperation in the areas of counter-terrorism and security. 
He stressed the importance of enhancing partnerships to fight the global menace of terrorism.
Dr. Tedros agreed that terrorism knows no boundaries, and he reiterated Ethiopia’s readiness to step up its efforts to reinforce its relations with the UK.
