AU gives responsibility to lead Africa’s peace, security to Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, 04 February 2014 (WIC) The ministry of foreign affairs said Ethiopia had able to give a lift to trade relations of the continent with the rest of the world, in one year chairmanship.
Spokes person of the ministry Ambassador Dina Mufti briefing on current and regional issues said Ethiopia as chair of AU has held various international meetings to further strengthen trade ties of the continent with the rest of the world.
He said Ethiopia is one of the 10 countries those were appointed on 22nd AU Leaders Summit to lead peace and security of the continent for the coming two years.
He said the proposal to name hall of the union after Nelson Mandela has been approved.
According to FBC, the spokes person has briefed economical, political and national issues related to the AU leaders Summit.
