Tigray collects over 1.3 bln birr in revenue

Addis Ababa, 27 January 2014 (WIC) – The Tigray State Revenues Development Authority said that it has collected more than 1.3 billion birr in revenue in the first half of this Ethiopian budget year.
Authority Deputy Director General, Mihret Beyene, told WIC over 1.1 billion birr of the revenue is state revenue, while the balance is municipal revenue. 
According to Miheret, the authority managed to attain 101 per cent of its target. It has collected 1.056 billion birr the same period last budget year, she said.
The authority has a plan to collect 2.4 billion birr state revenue and 306 million birr municipal revenue in this budget year, according to the deputy director general.
