Experts meeting of the Ethio – Algeria joint commission concluded

Addis Ababa, 27 January 2014 (WIC) - The Experts of the third Ethiopia – Algeria Joint Ministerial Commission Meeting was concluded yesterday (January 26, 2014) here in Addis Ababa.
The experts meeting that started on Friday January 24, 2013 discussed  political, economic and social issues through its three sub committees of the commission.
The Ethiopian experts’ delegation, headed by Ambassador Solomon Abebe, Director General for African Affairs at the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Algerian delegation, led by Mohammed Ainseur, head of African affairs succeeded in finalizing two draft agreements on culture and tourism.
The experts delegation of the two countries have also managed to finalize Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) on various issues ranging from science and technology, mining and petroleum, youth, women and children affairs, and sport.
Additionally, the two sides also reached agreement on drafts of MOU’s between Ethiopian News Agency and the Algerian Press Services on media content exchange and capacity building.
A draft cooperation agreement between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries has also been finalized during the experts meetings.
Experts drawn from Ministries of Water, irrigation and Energy, Culture and Tourism, Trade, Industry, Investment Agency and other institutions took part in the two days meeting under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Joint Commission is scheduled to hold the Ministerial meeting on Sunday, January 26, where the various draft agreements and MOUs are expected to be signed. (MoFA)
