Third Ethio-Algeria Joint Ministerial Commission meeting opens in Addis

Addis Ababa, 24 January 2014 (WIC) -The third Ethiopia-Algeria Joint Ministerial Commission was launched today (January 24) in Addis Ababa. The Joint Commission meeting started with the meeting of experts from both countries.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Solomon Abebe, Director General for African Affairs and Head of the Ethiopian Experts’ delegation emphasized the “consistently warm political and diplomatic relations” of the two countries and expressed his hopes for a more robust cooperation on economic front.

The experts’ session, scheduled to extend tomorrow (January 25) will deliberate on political, economic and social issues under three sub-committees and set the agenda for the Ministers’ meeting which will be held on Sunday (January 26).

Draft agreements to be signed by both countries are expected to be finalized during the experts’ session. (MoFA)
