Ministry focuses on awareness creation to prevent extremism
Addis Ababa, 1 January 2014 (WIC) – As part of the efforts to prevent extremism, awareness raising training was given to 42,995 members of the society in the first quarter of this fiscal year, the Ministry of Federal Affairs said.
Public Relations Office Head at the Ministry, Abebe Worku, told WIC recently that the training was mainly focused on diversity and ways of preventing extremism.
The training was provided for teachers, students and administrators of government higher learning institutions, Abebe pointed out.
According to him, some 20,009 teachers and administrator as well as 22,986 students attended the training offered by experts from the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) and the Ministry of Federals Affairs.
In connection with the 6th Ethiopian National Flag Day, awareness creation training on Flag Day celebration and unison of nations and nationalities was provided for various members of the community, he said.
