MoFA expresses condolences over death of Mandela
Addis Ababa, 6 December 2013 (WIC) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on Friday expressed its deepest condolences over the passing away of Neslon Mandela, former President of South Africa.
The Ministry expressed its condolences to the families and friends of the late Nelson Mandela and to the people and government of the Republic of South Africa.
It is with great sorrow that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has learned the death of Neslon Mandela, former President of the Republic of South Africa, said the Ministry in a statement.
The late Nelson Mandela made great strides in fighting the Apartheid regime in South Africa and contributed to the country's development and progress, the statement said.
Nelson Mandela has a special place in Ethiopia as he was hosted and trained in his struggle with the apartheid regime.
His legacy, the values for which he fought: peace, love, forgiveness and freedom will always remain in the memory of generations, MoFA said.
It wished comforts to the families and friends of the late Nelson Mandela and to the people and government of the Republic of South Africa.(MoFA)
