Int’l trade fair, bazaar opens in Jijiga town
Jijiga, 5 December 2013 (WIC) –An international trade fair and bazaar organized in connection with the 8th Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day opened in Jijjiga town, Somali Regional State last Tuesday.
Trade State Minister Ali Siraj and Speaker of the Somali Regional State Council, Mohamed Reshid, opened the trade fair jointly organized by the Somali Regional State and the House of Federation (HoF).
“The government of Ethiopia is working to put in place a modern trading system and ensure that nations, nationalities and people of Ethiopia benefits from the system,” Ali said.
In addition to increasing the exposure of Ethiopian business community to global trade system, the trade fair would strengthen economic integration among Ethiopians, he said.
Speaker of the Somali Regional State Council, Mohamed Reshid, on his part said that the trade fair would help micro and small enterprises create market link.
Over 144 local and 32 foreign enterprises as well as 82 micro and small enterprises are taking part at the trade fair that would stay open until December 11, 2013.
