EPRDF evaluates past fiscal year’s plan execution a success

Addis Ababa, August 2014 (WIC) – Past Ethiopian Fiscal Year’s Government and Party plan performance was successful both in the urban and rural areas, EPRDF Executive Committee said.


In a press release the Council of  Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) sent to WIC, the Executive Committee evaluated the successful recital of past Ethiopian Budget Year plan.


The encouraging execution of development plan, both in urban and rural, was due to effective mobilization and consolidating efforts of all development forces.


Despite relative differences in various rural areas, progress has already shown in ensuring development army in different development sectors.


The Executive Committee emphasized the need to fuse efforts so as to realize the planned 20 percent agricultural produce increase in the present Ethiopian Fiscal Year (2006/2007).


As agricultural transformation has been taking place in the country, more than 85 per cent of the planned 2.2 million new job opportunity creation in the rural area of the country  has already accomplished.


There are also encouraging results in developing small and micro enterprises, the press release indicated, adding that integrated efforts will be exerted to raise the participation of these enterprises in the manufacturing sector where gaps are observed.
“More than 2, 600, 000 job opportunities were also created for the youth in cities,” it stated.


The Central Executive Committee also emphasized many of the country’s mega projects,    incorporated in its Five Years' Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP) and currently underway in various parts of the country,  are in the right truck to be accomplished in line with the schedule.
