Dr Tedros gives direction to newly appointed diplomats

Addis Ababa, 10 July 2014 (WIC) - Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Tedros Adhanom gives on Tuesday (July 8, 2014) direction to newly appointed diplomats.

On the occasion, the minister said, with the highly globalised and interconnected world of today, the commitment, ability and strength of diplomats is crucial to the nation’s endeavor to sustainable development, democratization, peace and stability.

Dr Tedros advised the newly assigned diplomats to focus and pay prime attention to the national interests and priorities of Ethiopia in attracting foreign direct

Investment, promoting trade and tourism, securing technical assistance and transferring knowledge and technology.

The newly assigned diplomats reiterated their commitment to represent and serve their nation’s interest during their stay overseas.

They also pledged to strive to realize Ethiopian renaissance as well as its efforts to realize prosperous, peaceful and integrated Africa.
