Stakeholders schedule a forum to alleviate trade sector challenges: Ministry of Trade
Adama, 26 March 2014 (WIC) – Ministry of Trade said that it will hold a forum on the 27th and 28th of March 2014 with all stakeholders in Adama so as to alleviate the challenges facing the sector.
Amakele Yimam, Head of Public Relations and Communications Affairs Office in the Ministry, told WIC that the participants will evaluate the sector’s past eight months’ recital and create common understand of their next action plan.
According to Amakele, Federal and regional government organizations that have connection with the trade system of the country and other stakeholders, about 150 representatives, will partake in the forum.
“Participants will evaluate the performance of past six months in detail, Amakele said, adding that they will discuss ways of easing identified challenges of the sector.
According to Amakele, Ethiopian Revenue and Customs, Ministry of Agriculture, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Bank of Ethiopia, Ethiopian Investment Agency, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Industry, Federal Police and Bureau of Trade and Agriculture of all Regional States will play a part in the meeting.
Forum participants will converse about challenges connected with foreign currency, export, loan, transport and illegal trading in detail, he said.
He also said that they will reach at a common consensus to provide fast and transparent service to the trade community having alleviated the challenges in the time ahead.
