Addis Ababa, May 15 (WIC) - The report broadcast by some foreign media regarding the Ethio-Sudan border is a fabricated story aimed at disrupting the relations between the two countries, Chief Administrator of Benshangul Gumz underscored.
The Chief Administrator, Yaregal Aysheshum, told journalists today that no problem has so far been surfaced in the border areas the two countries are sharing.
The hearsay recently disseminated by some irresponsible foreign and local private media outlets saying the government of Ethiopia has given part of Ethiopia's territory to the Sudan is a fictitious story targeted at disrupting the peaceful relations between the two countries, he indicated.
The Chief Administrator said the border demarcation commission has begun a study but not yet begun the actual demarcation work.
However, the news story aired by some media outlets as if the demarcation process has been finalized and part of Ethiopia's territory has been handed over to the Sudan is against the professional ethics leading the peoples of the two countries into turmoil, Yaregal stated.
The border demarcation process would be carried out in line with international principles and quiet peaceful manner, he stressed.
The chief administrator finally warned such irresponsible media outlets to refrain from their ill acts.
