Axum, May 14, 2008 (WIC) - The University of Axum has reportedly been undertaking extensive activities to turn the university into a study and research center.
University Public and International Relations Office Head Gezai Desta told WIC that the university has commenced practical activities so as to make the university a study and research center for producing trained human power by designing long-term plans.
The university is also carrying out activities to establish Water Management Institute and Center for Strategic Study, the head said, adding that it has began providing consultancy and technical support to various institutions.
The university currently enrolling 2,300 students in 22 departments would admit some 9,000 students up on finalization of construction works underway in the premises of the university within the coming three years, Gezai indicated.
