Addis Ababa, May 13 (WIC) – Ethiopia and some 134 companies have signed licensing agreements meant for marketing Ethiopia's specialty coffee brand, according to Ethiopian Intellectuals Property (EIPO) Office.
EIPO Officials jointly told WIC today that the agreement was signed with 84 overseas and 50 local coffee exporters.
Office Representative Getnet Hunegnaw, said on the occasion that the companies have concluded the agreements to feature Ethiopian fine coffees - Harar, Sidamo and Yirgacheffe brands on their processed produces.
The country on the other hand has the obligation to regularly supply quality coffee to the companies, Getnet added.
Office Law, Policy and Plan Director, Iftya Maryihun, on her part indicated that the agreement the country has signed with the companies would help to make the produce more competitive.
