Addis Ababa, May 13 (WIC) - The South Ethiopia Peoples' Democratic Movement (SEPDM) expressed readiness to further consolidate development works underway in the country more than ever.
SEPDM Central and Executive Committees member, Mekuria Haile told WIC that SEPDM/EPRDF would exert unstinted efforts to further enhance the democratic, political and economic gains achieved over the past years.
The party has been struggling to ensure equal participation of the over 56 nations and nationalities in the state in development and political spheres; he said further pledging to further beef up its development works.
Encouraging results have been registered in the areas of agriculture, education, health and other economic spheres, Mekuria stated and further called upon the public to stand along side of the party to further consolidate the results attained.
Some three agricultural professional have been deployed in each of the kebeles in the state with a view to addressing problems of farmers, he further elaborated.
Attention has been given to the development of micro and small-scale enterprises as well as construction of condominium houses in the state by earmarking close to 300 million birr budget, Mekuria said.
The construction of condos launched in seven towns in the state last Ethiopian year has currently been expanded to 12 towns, he added.
The construction of some 5,260 condominium houses whose construction was a launched last Ethiopian year would fully be finalized in the coming two months and they would subsequently be transferred to beneficiaries, it was pointed out.
