Familiarizing the business community with competition
laws and policies would help to curtail unlawful
business activities as well as nurture free trade
competitions, the Federal Trade Practice Investigation
Commission said. Commission Chairman, Harqa Haroye, said while opening a relevant workshop here that creating awareness among the business community and concerned bodies on competition laws and policies is mandatory in order to solve problems in the fast changing business areas.
When the business community and the public are governed by competition laws and policies, it would be possible to curb the price hike observed on various commodities, he further noted.
Business competition laws are foundations for the growth and prosperity of a country, the chairman said, adding that the competitions would help consumers get quality goods at fair price.
Cut International Central Coordinator and Deputy Head, Rijit Sengupta, on his part stated that business competition laws would play significant role for trade activities as well as familiarize the business community with the concepts of the laws.
Some 30 participants form governmental and non-governmental organizations are in attendance of the five-day workshop, it was learnt.
