Desse, May 12, 2008 (WIC) – Some 428 hectares of investment land has been designated in Shoarobit town in Amhara State, according to the town Administration.Administration Mayor, Wondwossen Assefa, told WIC that the land has been readied to enable local and foreign investors engage in investment activities and thus speed up development in the town.
A study is also underway to designate additional 2,000 hectares of land, the mayor added.
Wondwossen further noted that efforts are underway to promote the investment alternatives in the town as well as curtail deep-rooted good governance problems.
The mayor finally called up on investors to contribute their share for the growth of the town seizing the enabling investment climate in the town.
Similarly, over 14,000 hectares of land has been designated for investors in Dawro Zone of SNNP State.
Zonal Trade and Industry Department Head, Tsadiku Chechiro, told WIC that some 14,000 hectares was readied in rural areas while the remaining 30 hectares in urban areas of the zone.
