Hawassa, May 9 (WIC) – Nationals of Silte in SNNP state have been benefiting from development and good governance endeavors underway in the state, according to zonal Chief Administrator.
Zonal Chief Administrator, Sani Redi, said opening the millennium festival of private enterprises, investors and merchants here that the Silte people have drawn immense benefits from education, health, infrastructure development, good governance endeavors since seven years ago.
The gross enrollment of the state which stood not more than 20 percent has reportedly reached 100 percent owing to efforts exerted by the state Education Bureau in collaboration with various NGOs operating in the state, he elaborated.
Besides, some 188 health posts and 12 health centers built in the zone are currently catering basic health services to the public, the Chief Administrator added.
Over 570 health extension workers have been deployed in all rural Kebeles of the zone in order to help the public protect themselves from various diseases, Sani further indicated.
All woredas of the zone have accessed telephone and electricity services as well as road facilities, he indicated adding that efforts are also being made to expand the services up to kebele level.
More than 1000 woreda and zone heads as well as investors took part in the festival, it was learnt.
