Nation celebrates 67th Anniversary of D-Day
Addis Ababa, May 6, 2008  - President Girma Woldegiorgis urged the youth to repeat the victory gained by Ethiopian patriots against foreign aggression in the development arena.

The President made the remark while addressing the event organized here on Monday in connection with the 67th Anniversary of Ethiopia's Victory Day over Italian aggression forces.

He said the current generation is expected to campaign against poverty and strive to ensure food security all over the country.

The President noted that the young generations need to struggle to extricate nation from grinding poverty.

It is the responsibility of all citizens to financially support patriots who sacrifice themselves to safeguard the sovereignty of their nation, President Girma said.

Speaking for his part President of Ethiopian Patriots Association, Astatke Abate said the youth should strive to make poverty history more than ever before.

The event was attended by Ministers, patriots, invited guests and various segments of the society.

Anniversary of Patriots' Victory Day is organized on May 5 annually to commemorate the Ethiopian patriots, who gained victory over the fascist Italian troops.
