Microsoft releases new software solutions

Addis Ababa, March 25 (WIC) – Microsoft East Africa Software Ltd has reportedly launched three new software solutions to the Ethiopia market.

The launch of the solutions, known as Window Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008 is part of a worldwide event, which Microsoft is billing as one of its largest ever, it was learnt.

It will be of particular interest to information technology (IT) professionals and managers, executives and senior public officials responsible for IT, and people who develop software application across Africa.

Microsoft Marketing Manager for East and Southern Africa David Ndung’u said we are bringing these landmark solutions to Ethiopia to help people secure their information, manage their networks more efficiently and ensure their users deliver better results.

Microsoft Director of Product Management for Window Server 2008, Joseph Landes reiterated that the new software solutions could make a business run more smoothly, help a government to deliver better service to citizens, or assist someone developing a piece of software to meet a specific local need.

General Manager at Computer Revolution Africa- Ethiopia, Yonas Tesfaye, on his part said Microsoft’s latest releases of Window Server 2008, Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 represent the largest enterprise launch in the company’s history and offer the innovations organizations demand from a powerful, agile software platform.
