Gondar, March 25 (WIC) - More than three million youth and women have benefited from development packages executed within a year across the country, the Ministry of Youth and Sports disclosed.
Speaking at a forum organized to promote the benefits of youth and women development packages over the weekend, Youth Associations, Governmental and Non-governmental Organizations Coordination Department Head with the ministry, Haileleoul Seyoum said youth in towns and rural areas of Amhara, Oromia, SNNP and Harrari states as well as Addis Ababa and Diredawa administrations have benefited by engaging in agriculture and micro and small-scale businesses.
Awareness raising discussions on the benefits of the packages were given to students of higher learning institutions and over 1.5 million youth engaged in micro and small-scale businesses.
Over 1,000 youth from Gondar University, various clubs, associations and those successfully engaged in micro and small-scale businesses attended the daylong discussion forum.
Pertinent bodies from the federal and state governments also responded to various questions raised by the youth.
