Denbiya Woreda finalizes preparation to celebrate millennium, World Health Day

Gondar, March 25 (WIC) – Preparations have been finalized to celebrate millennium celebration that enables to promote the investment alternatives of Denbiya Woreda in North Gondar Zone and boost the development participation of residents, the woreda administration said.

Woreda Chief Administrator Worku Hailemariam told WIC that the celebration would be held early next month.

He further said the World Health Day on April 7, 2008 would be marked with various events in the woreda capital, Koladiba, with a view to preserving the first health center of the country as a heritage.

Fund raising development bazaar would also be organized to finalize the 1.5 million birr preparatory school under construction in the town, he added.

The administrator said development institutions built by the government would also be inaugurated during the millennium celebration.

Some 15 investors with over 20 million birr capital have been engaged in vegetables and fruits, spices, animal resources development as well as tourism and hotel sectors in the woreda, it was learnt.
