Addis Ababa, March 16 (WIC) - The North Addis Ababa Branch Office of the Tigray Development Association (TDA) has been contributing its share to the realization of the ongoing development activities launched in the budget year, according to the Executive Director of TDA.
Speaking at a forum organized to evaluate the six months performance of the North Addis Ababa branch office, TDA Executive Director Tewolde Gebru said the association has currently over 150,000 members since due attention has been given to increasing the number of members.
TDA has been executing various development activities in education and health sectors during the past six months, he said, adding that six schools were built and went operational in the stated period.
The association has been undertaking various fund raising schemes in the budget year to raise 50 million birr and preparations are underway to organize a telethon aimed at raising money in the coming June, he indicated.
North Addis Ababa Branch Office Chairman Mammo Kiros said on his part one million birr income has so far been collected out of the 1.5 million birr expected to be raised in Addis Ababa this budget year.
