|
Addis Ababa, January 18, 2008 (WIC) - The Ethiopian Horticulture Producers and Exporters Association (EHPEA) held discussions today with a Russian delegation on ways of increasing flower export to the country.
Association Chairman Tsegaye Abebe said the Russian investors are interested in buying flower and vegetables from the association. According to him, the flower produce currently exported to Russia is low and there is a plan to boost export of flower and vegetables to the country through the bond created with the delegation. Delegation Head Professor Kocharian Karlen on his part said he was satisfied with the flower farms he visited and expressed readiness to make use of the market opportunity. Professor Karlen who indicated that the association is getting closer to the international market added that Ethiopian flower reached Russia via the Netherlands in low volume. The visit of the delegation will therefore open the door to directly export produces to Russia, he pointed out. |
