TPLF finalizes preparations to celebrate 33rd anniversary in metropolis

Addis Ababa, February 16, 2008 (WIC) - Preparations have reportedly been finalized to colorfully celebrate the 33rd founding anniversary of Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) in all the sub-cities of the metropolis.

Addis Ababa TPLF Zonal Committee Member Tsehayitu Bahta said at a press conference she held yesterday that the anniversary would be commemorated from February 17 to March 8, 2008 with various colorful activities.

Discussion forums that enable natives of the state to take part in various development activities in the state will also be held, she added.

According to the Tsehayitu, over 3,800 participants are expected to attend the forums.

The day is unique and historic as it is a time when TPLF is exerting utmost efforts to bring about good governance by recruiting effective candidates in the upcoming elections in collaboration with sister organizations, she indicated.

TPLF members and supporters, partner organizations and other supporters of the struggle are expected to take part in the three-week celebration, Tsehayitu noted.
