Jijjiga, April 28, 2008 (WIC) - Jijjiga, April 28 (WIC) - The Jijjiga Technical and Vocational Education Training College said it has been giving training to 120 HIV/AIDS orphans.
College Dean Abdi Ibrahim Mohammed said the orphans from Babile, Kebribeyah and Jijjiga woredas are being trained in general mechanics, wood work, electricity and tailoring in collaboration with the state HIV/AIDS secretariat. The special training will last three months.
According to Dr. Mohammud Eman, Training and Education Department Head with the secretariat, HIV/AIDS orphans in the state are being supported to engage in their fields of interest by providing them with finance and training since last year.
