Senior leaders of Chinese Communist Party on official visit

Addis Ababa, April 24, 2008 (WIC) - Senior leaders of the Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) have reportedly been exchanging experiences on social, political, and economic affairs of the two countries.

EPRDF External Relations Department Head, Sekou Toure Getachew, told WIC that the representatives of the two sides exchanged today experiences on the execution of policies of their respective countries and development as well as public mobilization.

The two parties would also hold talks on regional and international issues to reach common stand, the head said.

Sekou Toure, who noted the long-standing relationship of the parties, stated that their relations have been gaining momentum in the past years.

The five-member delegation headed by CPC Organizational Department Vice Minister Fu Sihe came to Ethiopia upon the invitation of EPRDF, it was learnt.

The delegation is expected to hold talks with EPRDF Chairman Meles Zenawi and visit various places in the metropolis in the coming two days.
