Tigray State allots over 1.2 billion birr for construction of condos

Mekelle, October 5, 2007 (WIC) - Tigray State has reportedly allocated more than 1.2 billion birr for the construction of condominium houses this budget year.

Urban Development and Construction Bureau Head, Kidusan Nega, told WIC yesterday that the houses would be built in Korem, Alamata, Wikro, Abiyaadi and Shiraro towns.

The construction of the condominium houses launched in Maychew, Mekelle, Adwa, Axum and Shire Endaselassie towns last fiscal year would also be consolidated, she said.

The Bureau Head stated that the construction of the 30,000 condominiums launched last and this budget years would be finalized within three years.

Youth organized under micro and small-scale enterprises are providing construction materials for the condos, she said.
