President Girma accentuates role of investors in building prosperous nation

Addis Ababa, November 30, 2007 (WIC) – The role of private investors in changing the country’s image and building a prosperous nation in the new millennium is significant, according to President Girma.

While inaugurating the Edna Mall, a multi-purpose building constructed with an outlay of more than 132 million birr, FDRE President Girma Woldegiorgis said, the role of investors is of paramount importance in building the country’s image.

Therefore the government will further enhance its support to further promote construction activities that create jobs and help the growth of the country’s economy, he added.

Owner and contractor of the building, Teklebirhan Ambaye, said on his part that he has been engaged in various construction works seizing the conducive investment opportunity created by the government.

The investor further revealed that he would build three similar centers in the metropolis, in addition to the just inaugurated mall. Teklebirhan also said he will undertake other construction works in Adama, Awassa, Mekelle and Bahirdar towns.

The center which was inaugurated yesterday comprises three cinemas and recreation centers, both for adults and children, he added.

He said the modern multi-purpose building will contribute in introducing the country to modern technology and thinking, according to the investor.
