EPRDF Executive Committee concludes regular meeting by endorsing plans for next three months

Addis Ababa, May 07, 2007 (WIC) - Executive Committee of Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) concluded its regular meeting yesterday by endorsing the plans for the coming three months.

According to the Office of EPRDF, the executive committee evaluated in depth the performance of the past three months in areas of good governance, foreign affairs, national security, political and organizational activities.

The committee lauded the activities launched in all states to implement good governance packages prepared for rural and urban areas in the country and called for enhanced works in the months ahead.

The executive committee also urged executives at different levels and the public to discharge their responsibilities for the successful completion of the national population and housing census to be carried out next month.

It assessed the security situation in the country and indicated that the measures taken by the federal and state governments are successful in ensuring reliable peace in the country.

The executive committee commended the participation of the public in ensuring peace and security in the country and called for the consolidation of the effort.

The committee denounced the tragic massacre perpetrated on Ethiopian and Chinese nationals by the terrorist Shaebiya and its agents.

The activities underway to build the capacity of the leadership at various levels is bearing fruit, the committee further stated and urged for further enhancement of the training in the coming months.

The executive committee also emphasized that the relations with partner organizations need to be strengthened and enriched with people-to-people relations.

The efforts made by the party to strengthen its relations with both rural and urban residents in the past months have brought about good outcomes. Hence, they need to be enhanced, it underscored.
