Hararri National League to field over 1,350 candidates for elections

Addis Ababa, December 22 (WIC) – The Hararri National League said it will field more than 1,350 candidates for the upcoming elections.

League Executive Committee Member, Redwan Adus, told WIC that the league has been working in collaboration with the Oromo People Democratic Organization (OPDO).

He said the league will field over 150 candidates in each of the nine kebeles.

It has recruited candidates loyal to the constitution and those who respect the supremacy of law as well as individuals that have acceptance to motivate the public for development, according to Redwan.

He said 25 percent of the candidates are youth and 30 percent women.

Besides, the league has been making preparations to field candidates that fill the three vacant state council seats, it was learnt.
