Japanese Embassy donates 724,000 birr for expansion of secondary school in woreda

Axum, December 4, 2007 (WIC) - The Embassy of Japan has reportedly donated 724,000 birr for the expansion of Ahsea Secondary School in Mereb Lehe Woreda of Tigray State.
Woreda Education Office Head, Leuel Nigusse, said the embassy made the assistance in order to alleviate the shortage of classrooms in the school. Accordingly, activities have been launched to build eight additional classrooms, the head added. Upon completion, the classrooms would accommodate over 400 students, it was indicated.
Besides, a library is reportedly under construction with over 100,000 birr raised by the community, the head stated. |
