Company supplies over 3,300 quintals of incense to local, foreign markets

Axum, December 29,2005 (WIC) -An incense supply company has reportedly provided more than 3,300 quintals of its produce to local and foreign markets over the last five months.

Manager of Sehul Incense Supply Share Company, Amare Gebremedhin said 2,442 quintals of incense was supplied to the central market, and the remaining 898 quintals exported to China and Middle eastern countries.

Presently, the company based in Shire Endaselassie town has been processing over 6,000 quintals of incense that would be supplied to foreign and local markets.

The demand for the incense of the locality has been growing,Amare said, adding that the company has therefore secured 7,000 hectares of land covered with incense tree from Tahatay Adiabo woreda administration.

Established eight years ago, the company has currently four million birr capital and created employment opportunities to more than 500 people, he said.

According to the manager,there is a huge potential of incense in the various woredas of Northern West Tigray zone.
