British Council trains 250 on internet use

Axum, December 29,2005 (WIC)- The British Council in Ethiopia disclosed that it has trained over 250 residents of Axum town,Tigray state, on basic internet navigation skills.

Speaking at the completion of the two-day training, Training Coordinator with the Council, Hailemelekot Taye, said the trainees drawn from the cross sections of the society have gained skills on how to navigate the internet and get the information they want.

Deputy Mayor of the town, Fitsum Kahsay, on his part said the training and material support by the Council is significant to help the public remain informed on various issues and keep connected with the world.

The council has donated four computers, three telephone lines, a copier and a fax machine to the town’s library during the past two years, it was learnt.
