Dev't projects under execution with over 3.6mln birr in Adwa town

Axum, December 17,2005 (WIC) - Development projects have reportedly been undertaken with an outlay of over 3.6 million birr in Adwa town of Central Tigray Zone.

Manger of the Municipality, Habtu Meberahtu said the projects being carried out with the participation of the public would help address the economic and social problems of the town.

The projects underway include the construction of bridges and a livestock market, installation of electric power lines,construction of 1.3kms drainage and 10 kilometers gravel roads.

Upon going operational at the end of this fiscal year,the projects would benefit over 20,000 people, Habtu added.

In a related development, natives of Adwa town and its environs have begun constructing a secondary school with an outlay of seven million birr, the manager said.
